This initial conversation helps us understand your vision and determine how we can best meet your needs.

Site Meeting

Following your enquiry, we will schedule a site meeting at your convenience. One of our experienced project managers will visit your property to assess the space and discuss your project in more detail. During this visit, we’ll take measurements, evaluate the structural aspects of your loft, and provide expert advice on the best design options. This meeting ensures that we have all the necessary information to move forward.

Next Working Day Quote

After the site meeting, we aim to provide you with a comprehensive quote by the next working day. Our quote will include a detailed breakdown of the costs, the proposed timeline, and the scope of work involved. We believe in transparency, so you can trust that our quote reflects the true cost of your project with no hidden fees. This quick turnaround allows you to make informed decisions promptly.

Price, Specification & Start Date Agreed

Once you’ve reviewed and approved the quote, we will finalise the price, specifications, and start date for your project. This stage involves confirming the materials, design details, and schedule to ensure everything is aligned with your expectations. Clear communication at this stage sets the foundation for a smooth project execution.

Contract Signed, 10% Deposit Paid, & Architect Survey Booked

With all details agreed upon, we will prepare a contract outlining the terms and conditions of the project. After signing the contract, a 10% deposit is required to secure your booking. We will then schedule an architect survey to create detailed plans and obtain any necessary permissions. This final step ensures that we can start your loft conversion on the agreed date without any delays.

The Loft Conversion Process

Our Construction Process at CS Lofts begins with the initial planning stage. After finalising the cost and payment plan, our architect visits to take detailed measurements and prepare tailored plans for your approval. These plans are then subjected to structural calculations. During this phase, you have the flexibility to adjust the internal layout, such as room divisions, electrical, and plumbing positions, as the build progresses. If Party Wall Agreements are not in place, we assist in discussions with neighbours to facilitate a smooth start. The approved plans are submitted to our Private Building Control for quick processing, ensuring no delays. Once approved, work begins with scaffolding erected to minimise disruption to your family life.

During the construction phase, the floor structure and dormer (if applicable) are built to create a large open-plan area. The Project Manager collaborates with you to finalise the positions of walls, electrics, and plumbing. Internal walls are then constructed, insulated, and plasterboarded in preparation for stair installation. On the installation day, we recommend avoiding the existing landing due to the disruptive nature of this task, which is completed in one day. After the stairs are installed, plastering and second-fix tasks, including skirting and doors, are carried out. Electricians and plumbers complete their fittings under the Project Manager’s coordination. Upon completion, an approved building inspector conducts a final inspection and issues a Certificate directly to you. This ensures all work is done within our timed penalty clause, delivering a high-quality conversion that enhances your home’s value and lifestyle.

CS loft completed a 2 bedroom and shower room loft conversion for us this summer.Richard and team demonstrated great work ethics. The communication was good. They were approachable and responsive. They supported us with our neighbours when there was a snag with the shared roof.Special thanks to Spencer who worked really hard to maximise our space and gave advice for layout. Richard, Sam and the rest of the team were brilliant and all clearly great at what they do, problem solving any issues they encounter.All snags are dealt with promptly and without fuss.We were not completely happy with their contracted plumber who worked on our project due to poor attention to detail. We contracted CS Loft for a 2 bedroom & 1 bathroom loft. Rich was over for an initial meeting where he helped by talking with our neighbours, and the works started soon after. We can safely say that Luke, Luke and all the builders were extremely professional and worked very hard to a very high standard. After getting various quotes, we are so glad we used CS Lofts for the design and build of our loft. I am very glad we found CS lofts. They arrived on time every day, the team were so helpful and came up with some creative ides along the way. The communication was excellent and we were kept fully informed of progress and what trades where arriving when.The team were tidy and also thoughtful when it came to our young children (keeping stairways safe etc).Their price was competitive and finished at exactly the cost they quoted. Finally and most importantly we love our new loft space, every finish was 5 star standard and we would recommend them without hesitation.

We wanted to extend the house with a loft extension being the most sensible way of doing it without breaking the bank. With it still being a significant outlay and with your house generally being your most valuable asset, you want someone to do this work who you can trust, is very good at what they do, timely and fair priced. Having no building contacts I turned to CheckaTrade looking for builders, and I think with only one exception I did not even receive a reply, and the one that did arrange to come round never showed up! Therefore I Googled “Loft Extensions” and up came “CS Lofts” so I e-mailed them. As a welcome change from previous companies contacted, CS Lofts replied and arranged to come round, and they arrived exactly when they said they would. This set the tone for the relationship going forward. CS Lofts take care of everything, the drawings, the planning application with the council, all the different trades that work onsite etc. Each job has a project manager, Benni in our case who coordinated everything. They gave us an estimate of how long it would take and they were well within this at completion. With any project there will always be something that comes up that was unforeseen, and in those very few instances everything got sorted out in a very fair and quick way.I always feel if writing a review there should be something to comment on as a point for improvement, but in this case I just can’t think of anything. The loft extension is now finished and the end result is absolutely fantastic. Benni as the project Manager was awesome, Andy, Joe, Sam, John, the plumber, roofers (sorry forgot your names) all made a reliable team of really friendly, professional, people.So if anyone asks, my advice to them would be without a shadow of a doubt use CS Lofts, to the point of, don’t waste your time looking anywhere else.Mark Fletcher

We were very satisfied with the end result. In spite of bad weather conditions (snow and incessant rain) that created frustrating delays, the guys always maintained a friendly, good natured and flexible approach. They communicated well and tried their best to work around my work appointments at home. The new roof, upgrading of the original dormer that now matches the new dormer has given our home a smart up-dated look, and we are loving our big bathroom. I decided to go with CS Lofts having seen that they did a house a few streets away from us. Having spoken to other loft specialists, we got a good feeling about them and went with them. So I booked an independent surveyor (Via build zone - which I wouldnt recommend as turned out to be unnecessary!). CS were absolutely fine about the 4 visits from the surveyor - which showed no issues at all. Trades highly skilled and friendly too. CS Loft did our loft conversion and they were fantastic. Ben and Benni managed the project and were very proficient. Even through it was a big loft with 15 meter dormer, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, dressing room and big landing space, still they were able to complete the whole project in 2.5 months and while we were still living in the property. The cost at the end was exactly the same as initial quote + optional extras that we opted. These guys are the benchmark for good builders!!

We chose to go with CS Lofts for our conversion as a number of people on our road had spoken very highly of them. We weren't disappointed. From the start we felt supported as they helped us negotiate some tricky planning obstacles with our local council. Once planning permission was approved things started moving quickly. CS Lofts have completed our loft conversion recently. They were understanding when we delayed our decision late last year, and were able to accommodate us when we wanted to proceed.The work started quickly and moved very fast. Within 2 weeks the shall was up. The builders worked hard and stayed later to ensure deadlines were met. We cannot fault the work ethic.The plastering, plumping and carpentry were all done efficiently. There was a couple of snags throughout the process, but these were fixed quickly.We did have to move out for a week or so while the stairs were being installed and the resultant mess, but this was a personal choice, with 2 small children it felt easier.Richard and Louise were quick in communicating times etc.Overall, very happy with the service and would recommend and use again.

Have spent many years in the construction industry, so when it was time to get my own loft conversion done I had several "General builders" that I knew that I could call upon .... However they are "General for a reason" and were either prohibitively expensive or did not possess the specialist skills required for my awkward loft. We gave up on the idea untill a chance meeting with Richard and within half an hour he assured us that a conversion was definitely possible, things moved quickly from there and the build started 2 weeks later and took less than 10 weeks at a price that was incredibly reasonable. We have completed the decorating now and are very happy with the results. The main team were great and the supporting trades were all friendly, aminable and tidy with all work to a good standard. Thanks again to Richard Sam and all of the CS team, highly recommended. .........The moral is if you want brain surgery you don't go to a gp ...... if you want a loft , go to a specialist......

- Overall we had a very positive experience with CS Lofts. We were able to live in with two small children whilst the works were being completed and they were considerate of this, ensuring they tidied up after themselves and ensured the build was left as safe as possible from one day to the next. We had a great working relationship with Harry who was very efficient and easy to communicate with. He coordinated all the work and tradespeople well and ensured we were happy with the end results. The only issues occurred when he was away and he sought to rectify these on his return.

Harry was great to deal with. Friendly and reliable and turned up on time every day and just got on with the job. He project managed the build which meant I was able to work from home with minimal disruption. CS loft have been nothing but amazing. From the frost Initial visit to completion. Sam was great explaining the process, what to expect and what we needed. Louise in the admin office was always available and arranged a viewing of a previous job before we signed our contract. The communication throughout was amazing. Out PM Gil was great and he really managed the build well taking into consideration our input and alway on hand. What struck me the most was when there were issues the team took control and rectified everything beyond our expectations. I would recommend CS lofts.

We used CS Lofts for our loft extension (hip to gable roof with dormer) and conversion. From our first interaction (the in person quote) and throughout our project we have been hugely impressed by everyone at CS Lofts. They are a family business and that care, attention and professionalism shines through. You are provided with a fixed quote, a comprehensive quote sheet and contract before going ahead, which is so refreshing to see exactly what will be done, and everyone is clear from the outset.Richard was fantastic as our project manager, a real ‘can-do’ attitude and problem solver going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction at every stage, including the aftercare provided long after the project had finished. Louise was always contactable and so helpful moving our work start date when our house purchase was delayed. Luke and Lewis (our 1st fix team) were so polite and professional - it was a pleasure having them around. Carpenters Luke and Gil (2nd fix) are very skilled and did a fantastic job finishing with great attention to detail, especially fixing complex sliding doors we had chosen. Their recommended tiler, Brian’s work was also impeccable. Too many individuals to name them all. CS Lofts completed the buildings regs approval for us and coordinated all the tradespeople very impressively, especially over the Christmas period.We have no hesitation in highly recommending CS Lofts to anyone looking for a caring, professional and quality company. We’re chuffed!

I found CS Lofts by chance walking past one of their projects. They’ve now been recommended for 5/6 other projects through us and for good reason. Ours was a complicated end of terrace with side and rear dormers due to council conservation area restrictions. They drew up the plans and managed it through council planning which can be a tricky process particularly with a conservation area. Once permission was granted CS Lofts had the scaffolding up and were up and running with a few weeks. The whole process took 12 weeks from start to finish and the whole time they remained collaborative, considerate and on budget. Ours is not the biggest loft in the world but through some clever design we’ve now got an en suite master bedroom with office area in our loft. Great experience all round.

CS-lofts recently completed a double domer loft conversion to our house. We are extremely happy with the extra space, they created 2 very bright and airy bedrooms and a separate shower room.Overall it was a positive experience from start to finish. A huget thank you to Richard and his building team they did a good job onsite very professional and higly skilled, they worked quick and effeciently. Richard and his team were very flexible, we changed our mind on a couple of things during the project and Richard was happy to accommodate for us, nothing was a problem.The communicaton was good throughout the whole project. Ridchard was always available, very patient and happy to answer our enquiries at any time, even after the project was completed.The project was completed on time to what was originally planned. There were no hidding costs or surprises.Overall very pleased with the end results and the service CS-lofts provided us.We would not hesitate to recommend CS-lofts to anyone looking to do their loft conversion stress free and to a high standard.

Having your loft converted is a big job and the thought of it is stressful so you want to make sure you have the right people. We found CS Lofts to be very efficient and polite and whilst I was working from home they didn’t bother me at all. They turned up and got on with the project and it was great to see how quickly they progressed with it. We are so pleased with the end result, the stairway being much more spacious than we had imagined and we now have 2 good sized bedrooms for our girls to have their own space and grow up in. Its taken a while to get round to this, Richard finished our conversion about 18 months ago. I just wanted to live with it for a while before commenting. We are very happy with it, everything's as it should be. The building work was as you'd expect but they did keep the house as clean as they could, He built a temporary wall and all the work went on behind it. So while a bit dusty nothing to deadly. Now we've had use of it its like its always been there. Very good builders, and very polite.

By far the best experience I have had with a building firm. The big thing with these guys is not just the quality of the work, which was spot on, but the confidence you feel in leaving them to get on with it.
